At Hidden Brook Farm, while the real focus is on raising children,
we use our horses, dogs, poultry and organic gardens to do this in
the best manner possible. We attempt to live as sustainably and
responsibly as we can, and while we are far from perfect – we
believe every little bit helps. We use natural methods wherever
possible – so you’ll see a lot of mention of Natural Horsemanship,
Organic gardening and Natural poultry rearing on our site. We also
believe in having fun while learning. Our farm is located on 80
acres in the beautiful and friendly Nashwaak Valley. We are proud
of what we are building – and invite you to take a closer look.
We have a limited number of positions available for
natural horsemanship riding
lessons, horse trailering,
horse training and we also take pony rides on occasion.
We do have some horses for sale, as do some of our friends and neighbors who we can
recommend – but we are very careful in matching horse to rider – so
your transactions with us will not be typical. Although we have
some top quality horses, not all of them are suitable for beginners
– in fact, we have come to realize that horses that can be trusted
with beginners are worth double their weight in gold.
4-H
Our farm is often the hub of 4-H activities for the
Nashwaak Valley
4-H’ers where members concentrate on horses (we have
Appaloosas, one
Paint and one Belgian Draft horse), poultry (we have several show
breeds – but mostly Barred Rocks), canine (as pets and for agility),
and gardening (both vegetable and landscape gardening). Other
projects are offered through the 4-H club, but our farm generally
plays host to these 4 projects
